ABB Process Automation Conference May 2024
In 2023, Power Plant Electrical Technologies (PPE) signed an agreement with ABB Process Automation to provide 800xA DCS spares, greatly expanding PPE’s opportunities and support. To integrate PPE Technologies into the ABB Process Automation portfolio, the company attended its first partner conference in April 2023 at ABB Longmeadow in Johannesburg.
Throughout 2023, PPE’s sales of ABB DCS 800xA spares were successful but relied heavily on a single segment of the Process Automation portfolio. This dependency on one market segment poses a risk, as 800xA spares sales are influenced by the cyclical needs of annual maintenance and upgrades.
To address this, a business plan was developed to strengthen relationships within the Process Automation sector and diversify opportunities. The goal is to drive sustained growth by generating new sales opportunities that align with PPE’s business model, offering a broader and more varied automation portfolio. This strategy complements our strong drive portfolio, which has been a key element of PPE Technologies’ sales success.
This strategy aims to generate new sales opportunities that align with the PPE business model, providing customers with a more comprehensive and varied automation offering. This addition
complements our already robust and complete drive portfolio, which has been a cornerstone of PPE Technologies’ sales business.
PPE Technologies attended the May 2024 Process Automation Partner Conference in Egypt to explore market opportunities aligned with our 2023 business plan. At the Cairo conference,
we reviewed products like Flame Scanners for burner management, and ABB’s Unitrol Excitation Systems and SyncroTact 6 digital synchronizer for generator synchronization.
As an established ABB channel partner with a diverse portfolio, we networked with regional partners to showcase our extensive stock and services, potentially opening new markets and enhancing support for their initiatives.
