Manufactured Flex RangePowa-Flex Heavy Current Distribution

A metal-clad, heavy-current power distribution solution built around withdrawable air circuit breaker feeders — delivering safe, reliable distribution to demanding downstream loads.

Every feeder carries integrated overload and short-circuit protection, and withdrawable “buckets” let individual feeders be isolated, serviced and upgraded while the rest of the board stays energised. Optional arc-flash detection and integrated PPE IM-Flex insulation monitoring add a further layer of safety and uptime. Enclosures are tailored to the customer’s requirements. Engineered and assembled by PPE Technologies.

Heavy-duty, protected distribution

Reliable high-current distribution with integrated overload, short-circuit and earth-fault protection on every feeder, housed in a rugged metal-clad enclosure.

Uptime by design

Withdrawable buckets are serviced or swapped while the board stays energised, and integrated PPE IM-Flex flags insulation faults before they turn into unplanned outages.

Safe and configurable

Metal-enclosed with isolation and optional arc-flash detection; fixed or withdrawable breakers with remote and local control to suit the application.

Protection terminology: overload, short-circuit and earth-fault protection

These protection terms describe different abnormal electrical conditions. Overload protection addresses current above the intended operating level over time. Short-circuit protection addresses a low-impedance fault path that can produce a substantially higher current. Earth-fault protection addresses unintended current flowing from an energised conductor to earth. Protection arrangements, settings and coordination are application-specific matters outside the terminology definitions in this section.

What an air circuit breaker feeder represents in a distribution system

An air circuit breaker is a switching and protection apparatus used in a feeder path. An incoming feeder is the route by which electrical power enters an assembly, while an outgoing feeder is the route by which power leaves it towards a downstream circuit or load. The feeder arrangement and apparatus depend on the electrical distribution topology, operating method and protection requirements.

Metering and communication: information categories

Metering refers to the collection or display of electrical measurements, such as values used to understand the condition of an electrical circuit. Communication refers to the exchange of equipment information with another monitoring or control point. The measurements, information exchange, interfaces and protocols vary according to the electrical system and its monitoring or control architecture.
